Let Go of a Past Heartbreak
Release past heartbreak by writing a letter you’ll never send and reclaim your emotional space for new love.
About this lesson
Welcome to Day 65 of your 90-day journey to finding love.
Today’s exercise is about something deeply important on the path to finding a healthy, lasting relationship: letting go of past heartbreak.
Many people carry emotional weight from previous relationships — disappointment, frustration, regret, or unresolved feelings. Even when we believe we’ve moved on, those emotions can sometimes remain quietly in the background.
Today’s exercise is designed to help you release some of that emotional weight.
You’re going to write a letter to someone who broke your heart.
But here’s the important part: this letter is not meant to be sent.
Instead, it’s simply an opportunity to express the thoughts and emotions you may have never fully shared.
You might want to write about how the relationship made you feel.
You might express frustration or sadness.
You might even find yourself wanting to apologize for things you wish you had done differently.
All of those emotions are valid.
Writing the letter gives you a chance to acknowledge what happened, release those feelings, and give yourself permission to move forward.
This process can be incredibly freeing.
Once you’ve written the letter, you can choose a symbolic way to let it go — tear it up, burn it safely, or simply place it somewhere as a reminder that you’ve chosen to release the past.
The goal isn’t to relive the pain.
The goal is to reclaim your emotional space so that you can move forward with an open heart.
Just because you once gave your heart to someone who couldn’t protect it doesn’t mean they still have ownership of it.
Today is about taking that power back and creating room in your life for someone who truly values what you have to offer.
